SWAG is a community of networking students, educators, parents and community leaders advocating SUCCESS through support and high expectations. The main focus of SWAG is Student Leadership and Achievement; all participants in the program attend Jacksonville High School. The program is designed to assists students in influencing a school-wide culture change. We address these important transitions in young people’s lives by building into schools an important set of rituals and practices that reinforce healthy values in students and encourage critical thinking.
SWAG is the proud recipient of a new five year grant made possible through funding from 21st Century Community Learning Centers and the Arkansas Department of Education. Grant funds will support after school services that offer academic and enrichment opportunities to promote student achievement. SWAG is open to students attending Jacksonville High School as well as high school students living in the Jacksonville community.
